Situated close to the Eden Valley, this area is a haven for walkers and cyclists with the famous Coast-to-Coast walk passing through the town. Also in the area are a number of activities, such as horse riding, hang gliding, climbing and mountain biking. Take a day trip on the picturesque Settle-Carlisle railway which stops in the town and enjoy the magnificent scenery that is all around. With both the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District National Parks close by, this is a wonderful base to explore all that this scenic area has to offer all year round.
