Jump in the car and head to Beaumaris, a captivating seaside town to stroll along the pier for outstanding mountain and sea views, marvel at the ruins of the town’s 13th-century castle, or wander the streets to spot a variety of architecture, from medieval to Victorian, hosting a range of independent traders. Sun-seekers will find plenty of sandy beaches to spend the day paddling the shores or trekking coastal paths, such as the expansive Traeth Llanddwyn south west of the island, whilst the unspoilt sands of Lligwy Beach lie in the north east.
