More information

Osprey Boathouse is a spectacular lodge set on the shores of Loch Tay in Killin, Stirling, with off-road parking, a private hot tub, and full-height windows looking across the water towards Glen Lyon and Kenmore. Designed in a striking boathouse style, this single-storey retreat is ideal for couples seeking somewhere memorable to spend time together, with the loch forming part of the setting from the moment you arrive. Inside, the main living space unfolds as one open room, bringing cooking, dining, sitting and sleeping together in the style of a loft apartment. At one end, the king-size bed is raised on its platform, while at the other, a woodburning stove creates a natural focal point as evening draws in. Between the two, the kitchen is neatly arranged for laid-back meals, with the dining area positioned to make the most of the water views. Full-height glazing brings the light deep into the room and keeps Loch Tay constantly in sight, whether you are eating, reading, or simply watching the weather move across the landscape. Underfloor heating adds warmth beneath your feet, while the bathroom offers both a walk-in shower and a bath placed for taking in the outlook across the loch. Outside, the decking extends the sense of being over the water, with furniture arranged for lingering mornings and a hot tub that looks straight onto the loch. This is a place shaped by its setting, where the changing light, wide views and passing wildlife all become part of the stay. From the boathouse, head into Killin for essentials, a stroll by the river, and time spent soaking up the village atmosphere. Follow the lochside towards Kenmore, which sits in the distance from your window, and take in the long sweep of Loch Tay as it stretches through the landscape. Look across towards Glen Lyon, where the backdrop adds depth to every view from the property. Guests with an eye for outdoor pursuits can also make the most of trout fishing rights during their stay. However you choose to spend your time, Osprey Boathouse is a remarkable base for Loch Tay.
