You are ideally placed to explore the wonderful coastline of Cardigan Bay from the town with various sandy beaches stretching in both directions with New Quay to the South and Borth to the North. The area offers numerous outdoor activities such as dolphin and wildlife spotting boat trips, river and sea fishing. Perhaps catch a glimpse of the submerged forest at Borth, or enjoy a trip on the Vale of Rheidol Railway to the mystical gorge and waterfalls of Devils Bridge. Slightly further afield, to the north, you will find the pretty vibrant market town on Machynlleth, with the local Ynys Hir Nature Reserve and the start of the Snowdonia National Park. To the south is the harbour town of Aberaeron, with its pretty multi-coloured terraced houses. In the Aberaeron area there are numerous National Trust properties including the long stretch of the sandy beach at Penbryn, and the working farm and John Nash designed property at Llanerchaeron.
