From here, it’s only a short drive to Bodmin, where you can learn about Cornwall’s military history at Bodmin Keeps and the 18th-century jail. Nearby is the fascinating Restormel Castle and Manor and also well worth a visit is the National Trust site of Lanhydrock House. It’s not hard to reach the seaside; simply hop in the car and travel to Par, where you and your dog can enjoy a stroll along the sandy beaches of Par Sands and take in the breath-taking vistas of the English Channel. If dog walks and bike trails are your thing then check out Cardinham Woods, a mecca for dog walkers and bikers alike.
