Enjoy a walk around the lake or a cycle if you prefer dry land, heading down to excellent viewpoint spots like Surprise View at the southern end of the lake. Castlerigg Stone Circle makes more a lovely ramble, while the two larger challenges of Skiddaw and Blencathra are great for a day’s walk reaching the summits for impeccable scenery.
