Shop 10 mins walk, pub 5 mins walk. Note: Access to the entrance is via a flight of 17 shallow steps, divided into groups of 3 with short level areas in between, and a handrail on one side. There are also two steps up to the patio and garden area. Note: There is an internal locked door connecting to the owner’s home.

This welcoming Castleton cottage is an ideal base for couples interested in walking, cycling and touring in the beautiful, surrounding countryside, with easy access to the dramatic Heritage Coast. Comfortably furnished throughout, this lovely ground floor Castleton cottage has one super king-size double bedroom with en-suite shower room. The kitchen has a stable door which overlooks the garden, and this North York Moors holiday home also has a spacious sitting room with dining area. Outside this Castleton cottage is a sunny south-facing garden, a perfect spot to sit, relax and unwind with a glass of wine whilst watching the sun go down. A few minutes’ walk brings you into the centre of this friendly moorland village, with traditional local inns, a quaint tea room and shops. An excellent network of public footpaths, quiet lanes and cycle routes are a walkers’ and cyclists’ paradise, taking in fine views of the breathtaking scenery in this wonderful area. Well worth a visit is the nearby Danby Moors Centre, with its exhibitions, cafe and walking trails, whilst train enthusiasts will enjoy a trip on the North York Moors Steam Railway at Grosmont, which winds its way through heather clad moors to Pickering. A short drive from this Castleton cottage brings you to the small seaside resort of Saltburn, with gardens leading from the town centre to the sandy beach, with its renowned cliff lift and long pier. Further down the coast lies the bustling town of Whitby with many attractions, including boat excursions, ghost walks, museums and long golden sands. Take in the sights on the open top bus, wander around the cobbled market square and quirky ginnels or tempt the taste buds with the famous fish and chips! With so much on offer in the vicinity, this lovely Castleton cottage provides an excellent base.
