    More Information

Pollys Cottage is a double fronted, 17th century Lakeland cottage tucked away in the village of Elterwater. Ideally placed in the Langdale Valley Pollys Cottage is an ideal base for exploring the hidden gems of the Lakes while being just a short drive from Ambleside.

Enter the cottage into the spacious sitting room with cosy woodburning stove, a lovely way to relax after a day on the nearby fells. Through to the country kitchen there is also a generous dining area and access out to the shared garden with furnished patio. Upstairs there are three bedrooms; 2 doubles and 1 single. Two couples will spread out easily here and families will enjoy a perfect location for an active holiday. To the first floor there is also a bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC.

Walk the Langdale Pikes straight from the door of the lovely property. The Britannia Inn is located in the centre of the village, providing Lakeland ales and home-cooked hearty meals. From here you can walk along to Chesters by the River, a delightful café and gift shop, selling everything homemade and wonderful. Also nearby is picture perfect Hawkshead and Coniston Water, the Lake District’s third largest lake. There you’ll find more opportunities for boating activities, perhaps discovering Peel Island – featured in Arthur Ransome’s Swallows & Amazons as ‘Wild Cat Island’.
