This delightful, detached stone cottage, sits in the small village of Hinderwell, nine miles north up the coast from Whitby. Situated in the North York Moors National Park, it is well-placed for walking, cycling and traditional seaside holidays. Accessed by a garden gate to French doors at the side of the property, you step into the spacious open plan living area that has been thoughtfully presented to a high standard. There is a modern oak kitchen with a dining table to the side and a comfortable sitting area with a leather corner sofa and with a bathroom and a ground floor shower room, there will be no queues in the morning! With beams, tongue and groove doors and traditional furnishings, it provides a characterful and welcoming cottage to come back to at the end of a rewarding day. Outside, a rectangular small courtyard is a lovely sun trap in the afternoon. There are excellent local amenities within a stone’s throw from this charming cottage, including a good butcher’s, a local pub, a tea room and a village shop. Port Mulgrave beach is just a few minutes’ walk, with its fossils and rock pooling, whilst the picturesque fishing village of Runswick Bay is one mile away and offers a sandy cove, just perfect for building sand castles and paddling in the sea. Take a bracing cliff-top walk on the Cleveland Way with superb coastal views, or explore the nearby seaside town of Whitby, steeped in history with its narrow, cobbled streets, interesting shops and famous abbey. On the edge of the North York Moors, this inviting and homely cottage makes an ideal base for a memorable family holiday.
