Nestled in the Pinewood area of Limefitt Park, in the scenic Troutbeck Valley, is this delightful lodge, Ramblers’ Rest Lodge. Enjoying magnificent views of the surrounding fells while in a fabulous park location, this homely dwelling is a great choice for families looking to break away from normality and explore the Lake District National Park. Internally, the lodge boasts a wooden theme with an open plan living space, so you can lounge on the sofa and keep the chef company whilst they prepare home-cooked meals, with assistance from the electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge and freezer. Serve dinner at the dining table before tuning into the Smart TV in search of your favorite shows, all while the subtle warmth of the electric fire aids relaxation. As you tire, head to the bedrooms to catch your rest, offering a double with en-suite shower and a twin, both fitted with storage units and TVs so you can continue your shows to bed. A pleasant bathroom rounds up the interior, with a bath and shower over, providing lazy soaks and refreshing rinses as you wish. Step outside and enjoy your morning coffee from the decked area, before venturing on a stroll through the park as you get to know your surroundings better, with a pub, small shop and children’s playground on site. If you’re looking for a night away from kitchen, nearby is The Queen’s Head, and round the corner is the Mortal Man, both traditional pubs serving a classic menu. Drive up over the spectacular Kirkstone Pass, then drop down and you’ll see Brotherswater – around seven miles from the Park. Continue toward the beautiful Ullswater and the hamlet of Glenridding for more great pubs, shops, Ullswater Steamers and amazing walks. Here you can start the ascent of Helvellyn, or the Ullswater Way which now goes all the way round this beautiful lake. Windermere is a delightful town, boasting a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, where you visit the World of Beatrix Potter attraction, or visit the famous author’s home at ‘Hill Top House’ in Sawrey. However you choose to spend your time, return each evening to the warmth and comfort of Rambler’s Rest Lodge.
