Muncaster castle and gardens are easily accessible by car and the beautiful grounds and house are open to visitors, and also host year round events such as concerts and bird shows to entertain the whole family. Take a ride on the Ratty Steam Train up the Eskdale Valley. It’s a wonderful experience and there is a good cafe at the of the line as well as some fantastic walks; the perfect day trip! With the Lake District close by, a wealth of outdoor activity is within reach, including a climb up the mighty Scafell Pike, with paths ranging from easier to higher difficulty. For those seeking adventure, embark upon one of the many mountain bike, road bike or walking routes departing from your front door. Your situation in Ravenglass means you only have to travel just over 10 miles before reaching England’s north-west coast, so why not take a day to visit Seascale?
