Royal Oak Cottage dates back to the early 19th century and is a beautifully presented Grade ll listed property, sleeping four guests in two homely bedrooms, in Chipping Campden. Perfect for a small family, group of friends, or a couple seeking a relaxing break in the Cotswolds.
Step up the four stone steps and in through the front door, which welcomes you into a small entrance hall, handy for storing your coats and shoes, before opening up into the bright and airy sitting room, where you and your loved ones can curl up on the four-seater sofa or one of the two armchairs and feel the warmth from the woodburning stove keeping you toasty whilst you watch a film on the Freeview TV, or get lost in the pages of a compelling novel.
Rustle up delicious home-cooked meals with the help from the contemporary facilities in the kitchen, before retreating to the large wooden dining table and enjoy your meal with a glass of wine to toast to an exciting holiday that lies ahead.
Take yourself off for some peace and quiet into the study room, which overlooks the garden and contains a cloakroom with a basin and WC.
Outside, the enchanting, tiered garden offers a wonderful space to enjoy the sunshine and has additional seating, perfect for alfresco dining. The second tier has a pathway that weaves through leafy trees, shrubs, flowers and herbs where you can soak in the sun and enjoy total serenity.
When the sun goes down, make your way up to the first-floor where you have a choice of two welcoming bedrooms, one with a king-size bed and the other with a double bed, both with ample hanging and storage space, which share the floor with the bathroom where you can indulge in a soak amongst the bubbles in the bath!
In the morning, make yourself a steaming cup of coffee using the Nespresso coffee machine, before getting ready for the day and heading out into Chipping Campden where you can enjoy a delicious breakfast at The Bantam Tea Rooms before heading over to Dover’s Hill to enjoy the stunning views over the Vale of Evesham where you can join the Cotswold Way, which is a 100 mile walking trail, taking you through picturesque villages, breath-taking countryside and famous ancient sites and if you start in Chipping Campden, walk to the next stop which is Broadway and have an enjoyable meal at The Swan.
Train enthusiasts will be delighted to discover Evesham Vale Light Railway, which operates in nearby Evesham Country Park and covers a mile through the park, including a lengthy, scenic ride through the fruit orchards.
Cotswold Falconry Centre, in Batsford, houses over 130 birds of 60 different species, where there are flying displays, aviaries and critically endangered birds, an educational and fun day out for all.
For a splendid getaway to the unspoilt countryside Gloucestershire, stay at Royal Oak Cottage.
