On entering the property, a hallway leads to a welcoming sitting room decorated in warm, earthy tones. Exposed brickwork and real-flame effect fire create a contemporary rustic feel, whilst the chandelier, cornicing and large window add a touch of period elegance. The dining room offers a pleasant place to enjoy a meal, and is decorated in duck egg blue with accents of copper. There’s so much to see and do, for all ages, in Whitby. Kids will enjoy crabbing in the harbour or a day at the beach, perhaps boogie boarding or fossil hunting, followed by world-class fish and chips. Boat trips run regularly throughout the year from the nearby harbour and are a fun way to see more of the heritage coast.
Or for a magical experience, hop on board a steam locomotive across the North York Moors – the scenery is so pretty. Art-lovers should check out local artists from nearby Staithes, there’s also an annual Arts Festival in September.
