Somerford Lodge is a contemporary, two-bedroom lodge in a wooded cul-de-sac at White Cross Bay with double bi-fold doors giving a light and bright interior – perfect for those glorious warm evenings! Somerford Lodge has a spacious open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area, with two leather sofas, an armchair, a coffee table, and an electric fire, along with a Smart TV and Smart speaker. The dining area has a round glass table and four chairs to savour hearty meals. Outside, you’ll find furniture for alfresco dining, as well as a sunken hot tub, offering a welcoming base from which to explore the local area or to simply relax and unwind from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. White Cross Bay is in a fabulous location, on the shores of Lake Windermere. With views across the water and to the surrounding fells, you are literally in the heart of the Lake District and your lodge is just a few yards from the waterside. A short stroll will bring you to Brockhole Lake District Visitor Centre, with its gardens, house, café, restaurant, walks, boats, adventure playground, and Tree Top Trek: there are lots to do! You’re also just two miles from Windermere village with shops, cafés, and pubs, and three miles from Bowness boat landings, where the cruisers come in. Bowness is a cosmopolitan village with award-winning restaurants and pubs and quirky shops, a cinema and the World of Beatrix Potter attraction. Three miles in the other direction, head to Ambleside, another bustling town with shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants and of course, walks in every direction. Two miles North of Somerford Lodge on the A592 is the pretty village of Troutbeck, home to two traditional pubs with log fires: The Queens Head and the Mortal man; Holehird Gardens, and the National Trust’s Townend House. Further on you climb up to the magnificent Kirkstone Pass, then drop down to Brotherswater & Ullswater. Somerford Lodge is a great place to make many happy memories together.
