Venture into Matlock for a day out; The Heights of Abraham is a great place to start, offering stunning views of the town and the surrounding countryside. Then, head to the Matlock Bath Aquarium and Arcade for some family fun, or visit Cromford Mills for a glimpse of Derbyshire’s industrial heritage or if you’re looking for something a bit more adventurous, why not check out The Great Masson Cavern or Matlock Farm Park? A lovely afternoon can be spent at one of a handful of nearby historical sites, including the picture-perfect Hardwick Hall, Haddon Hall and Bolsover Castle; why not take a picnic for your day out while exploring the lovely, manicured grounds.
