With off road parking for one car in the courtyard at the back, guests can safely leave their car behind and hop on the train that puffs its way through the heather-clad moors to Grosmont and Whitby. Pickering has much to offer visitors, with its castle ruins, museums, bike hire and trout fishing ponds. With spectacular scenery on the doorstep and a wealth of stately homes and gardens to visit, including Duncombe Park, Nunnington Hall and Castle Howard, there is plenty to keep you busy. Take a trip to the nearby market town of Helmsley, visit the castle and be sure to take the two mile walk along the valley to the beautiful Rievaulx Abbey.
