His fully restored Bluebird K7 boat is now housed in Ruskin Museum nearby. The Old Man of Coniston offers a stunning backdrop to the village, and there are many walking routes from the apartment leading to Tarn Hows, Tilberthwaite and the charming village of Hawkshead, which has some interesting shops and is home to the Beatrix Potter Gallery.
