Whilst slightly further afield are magnificent walking and cycling opportunities on the Elan Valley Trail. The friendly town of Rhayader boasts a good selection of independent shops, cafes and restaurants. It sits on the River Wye and is rich in cultural history and it also has its own community museum. Many pretty country villages surround this lodge near Rhayader, including Abbeycwmhir and St Harmon, whilst the Victorian Spa town of Llandrindod Wells and the market town of Builth Wells are nearby.
