The sitting room is a showpiece, where exposed stonework and three inviting sofas surround a woodburning stove, creating a space made for gathering. A Smart TV is on hand, though the real highlight comes when you open the patio doors onto the decking, extending the living space outdoors with fresh air and views. The decking area is furnished with seating and a barbecue, making it an ideal spot for alfresco dining against the backdrop of the tremendous sights. On the first floor, the king-size double bedroom is defined by its elegant four-poster bed and generous picture window, which bathes the room in natural light and provides views up to Mynydd Carningli. An armchair tucked to the side makes a perfect corner for a quiet pause with a morning coffee. On the same level, the double bedroom is wonderfully unique and takes full advantage of the sea views with extensive windows. A further bedroom with an adult bunk bed adds flexibility for friends or family on the first floor. The bathrooms are thoughtfully designed: a sleek main bathroom with a freestanding bath, basin, and WC and a stylish wet room is on the ground-floor with a walk-in shower, basin and WC, giving everyone space to prepare for the day. A utility room neatly houses the essentials for longer stays, while another standout is the reading room, a haven with an extensive library to enjoy, complete with a sofa and armchair. It’s a space to linger, lose yourself in a story. To the front, an enclosed patio provides another charming place to enjoy time in the open air. If you manage to pull yourself from the tranquil surroundings of The Barn, the bustling town of Newport awaits with an array of popular eateries, as well as the expansive Newport Sands and Parrog beaches which are always popular with all ages. Along the coastline, take in the Pembrokeshire Coast Path that can take you towards Dinas Head to the west or Cardigan to the north – there are wonderful vistas along the entirety of its 186 mile route. Visit historic Cardigan Castle, the birthplace of the Welsh Eisteddfod in 1176 or spend a day immersed in the natural wonders of the Welsh Wildlife Centre ar Cilgerran, a beloved sanctuary to a diverse collection of animal species. In season, you can venture out into Cardigan Bay to visit the resident bottled nosed dolphins! Back near base, the Neolithic age Pentre Ifan Burial Chamber gives a serene, iconic image of Pembrokeshire. The adventurers of the group can head high up into the Preseli Hills above Newport to Carningli which gives commanding views of Cardigan Bay. No matter where your interests lie, The Barn promises a memorable retreat in the heart of Pembrokeshire.
