    More Information

Located in the pretty village of Milcombe, on the edge of The Cotswolds AONB, lies The Forge at Smithy Cottage. As the name might suggest, the property was converted from an old blacksmith’s forge, and provides the perfect retreat for a couple looking to get away from it all. You will find an off-road parking space as you arrive, before taking a moment to relish your peaceful surroundings on outdoor seating. As you step into the open-plan living space you will be delighted by the time and effort that have been spent to creating this contemporary space that still boasts rustic charm. After marvelling at the wooden beams and stonework, curl up on the vibrant sofa and watch your favourite film on the Smart TV with your loved one and the warmth of the under-floor heating. Make your way into the well-equipped kitchen that boasts a slimline dishwasher and handy washer/dryer, to create delicious dishes that you can enjoy with your partner at the idyllic dining table. A fabulous king-size bed awaits you behind a handy partition; grab a book from its shelves and enjoy a relaxing read before having a well-deserved rest. The cottage is served by a contemporary shower room that showcases a spacious walk-in shower and light-up mirror, perfect for getting ready before a day of countryside escapades. Head into the lovely Milcombe and grab your essentials from the convenience store, before enjoying a pint in the relaxed atmosphere of The Horse & Groom Inn. Travel a little further to the village of Bloxham and tour its museum, before enjoying a romantic stroll through Jubilee Park and a game of golf at the Hillside Farm Range. Travel north to the market town of Banbury and go picnicking in Spiceball Country Park or the stunning People’s Park, tour the cultural Banbury Museum & Gallery, before exploring the manicured grounds of the nearby Broughton Castle. Be sure to visit the town of Chipping Norton and pay a visit to the renowned Diddly Squat Farm Shop, before dipping your toes in the peaceful Lido swimming pool and learning about the village’s history in the Chipping Norton Museum. If you’re looking for more to do, visit the stunning city of Oxford, enjoy a day of shopping in Bicester Village, or delve into the Cotswolds AONB and partake in outdoor activities, while exploring its nature reserves.
