Enjoy lunch at one of the many well-established cafés and restaurants within the area, before setting about on a scenic walk along the breath-taking South West Coast Path. Watch as boats bob in the picturesque harbour of Polperro before stopping by the Polperro Model Village for a tour of the quaint replica village, with captivating tales of local folklore. Carry on along the unspoilt paths of the National Trust owned Lantic Bay, before taking a detour onto the idyllic Readymoney Cove and the 16th century ruins of St Catherine’s Castle. Meet magnificent birds of Prey at Bird Lady of Fowey or travel further afield to Liskeard for a day at Porfell Wildlife Park & Sanctuary. Wander the well-manicured grounds of The Lost Gardens Heligan, or learn of the conservation efforts of the nearby Eden Project. Swing through the skies at Adrenalin Quarry or see the enchanting waters of Golitha Falls, a firm favourite amongst many outdoor enthusiasts. Admire art at The House of Murals or travel back in time with a trip to Duloe Stone Circle. Early May sees the Festival of the Sea, focusing on cooking demos with freshly caught seafood available on the harbour side. The famous Looe Music Festival takes place during one weekend in September, November you can enjoy Looe‘s own literary festival, with New Year, the town celebrates with fancy dress and spectacular fireworks from the pier. Looe is an ideal base for walkers to explore the South Cornwall coastal path, east to Rame Head and Plymouth, or west to Polperro and Fowey. Fowey is home to its own royal sailing club and annual regatta (held in August), and the literary festival celebrating the town’s most famous daughter, Daphne Du Maurier. Polperro is an unspoilt picturesque fishing village, and a peaceful stroll to one of the harbourside pubs will transport you back to a different era.
