    More Information

Crich 3.3 miles. This is an outstanding converted chapel, set in the grounds of the owners’ home, in the rural hamlet of Wheatcroft conveniently located between Crich and Matlock. Packed with character and charm throughout, the cottage is the perfect place to get away from it all, enjoying true country living and yet be within easy reach of some lovely villages and towns. As soon as you arrive, you know you’ll be staying somewhere very special. Enter into the hallway with room for coats and boots and a cloakroom. This leads to a well-equipped kitchen and then up three steps to where The Old Chapel really comes into its own. There is a fantastic sitting room with vaulted ceiling and woodburning stove where you can sit and relax with a refreshing drink. Overlooking the sitting room and up the spiral stairs, there is a beautiful mezzanine bedroom, with wooden carved beams, curved ceiling and an en-suite bathroom. Outside is a pretty patio, overlooking a wild meadow with stunning views over the Amber Valley, and just the spot to enjoy your morning coffee or an after dinner glass of wine. Exploring the beauty of the Derbyshire Dales is within easy reach on the public footpath which is to the side of the cottage. The cottage is the perfect base from which to explore the region’s many attractions, including Chatsworth House and Carsington Water and Sailing Club. A fabulous romantic cottage in an idyllic location.
