Ambleside 1 mile. An outstanding, ground floor, semi-detached courtyard cottage in the desirable hamlet of Clappersgate, just one mile from Ambleside in the heart of the Lakes. Located in the Lake District National Park, just 200 yards from the River Brathay and Lake Windermere, The Old Laundry is the perfect place to stay for a magical holiday amidst simply beautiful scenery. This superb cottage provides excellent accommodation, perfect for a relaxing break in an area surrounded by fells, lakes, rivers and wildlife with great local pubs, shops and restaurants within 15 minutes walk. Inside, there is a spacious open plan living area with a feature slate inglenook with gas fire, contemporary kitchen with breakfast bar and soft, comfortable seating. This cottage is so charming you might not want to leave! Both bedrooms are elegantly furnished and each has an en-suite wet-room with underfloor heating. Outside, across the cobbled courtyard and road, there is an idyllic shared garden on the banks of the River Brathay, which flows into Lake Windermere a perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine and escape from the hustle and bustle. Every guest should take the path up Loughrigg Fell behind the cottage for the views over Ambleside to Wansfell, Lake Windermere, Rydal Water and Grasmere which will stay with you long after you have left this magical place. The quaint village of Hawkshead is just 10 minutes drive away, a real favourite for the lovers of Beatrix Potter with the Beatrix Potter Gallery to visit and of course, Hill Top at Near Sawrey. Whilst you are over this way, explore the Grizedale Forest and the many treks and cycleways this vast forest is a haven for wildlife. On the way back why not stop off at the Drunken Duck Inn to enjoy a refreshing drink dinner here is superb, but booking is essential!
