Set over three floors, displaying uninterrupted views of the nearby coast, proximity to the stunning Quantock Hills AONB, Somerset Steam Railway, Exmoor National Park, and a nautical theme throughout, The Old Lighthouse is the perfect holiday retreat for families and friends alike, sleeping four guests and accommodating two well-behaved dog. On arrival at the cottage, park up in the nearby free car park, whilst making your way through the characterful front door and up to the second floor, where you’ll find the bright and spacious open-plan living space; cook up a storm in the contemporary kitchen, dine with direct views of the scenic backdrop of Watchet Harbour, or relax in front of the TV, while watching the world go by in the nearby town. As the evening sets in, head down the rope-lined staircase to the spacious bedrooms, carrying through beamed ceilings and skirtings, offering a charming place to rest your head and unwind; there’s a ground-floor king-size with en-suite cloakroom. A twin room on the middle floor with proximity to the sleek shower room. Watchet itself is rich in history, and has maritime Museums of its past, whilst its newly built East Quay, located on the harbourside, homes a café, art gallery, and lively esplanade which reflects its diverse culture; amenities including a deli, butcher, chemist, doctors, post office, eateries, and pubs are all on the doorstep of The Old Lighthouse. Boasting an excellent travel network, aboard the open-top tour bus, passing through Lynmouth & Lynton, offering spectacular views of Exmouth National Park, or perhaps take a stroll alongside the river to Watersmeet House, a National Trust property. Avid walkers will also enjoy woodland walks along East Lyn & Hear Oak rivers, overlooking Lynmouth Bay, whilst those who feel energetic will appreciate the breath-taking scenes from the Valley of the Rocks, also accessible via Lynton Mountain Railway. Heading to the village of Dunster, its resident castle is worth a visit, featuring a working water mill and a lovely tearoom, while Dunster Marsh Beach is a short car journey away, with stunning views of the surrounding coast.
