Fishermen are spoilt for choice with plentiful stocks in the hundreds of loughs that populate the local area. Take a trip to Carrick-on-Shannon for a plethora of restaurants and bars and maybe take a cruise on the Shannon, Ireland’s longest river. The Arigna Mining experience is well worth a visit or perhaps step back in time to experience life in a World War One trench at the Cavan County Museum. Head north for a day trip to Enniskillen or hike through the Dartry Mountains for spectacular scenic views. The towns of Longford and Cavan are also easily reached, making this Carrigallen cottage an ideal choice for your next self-catering holiday.
