    Note -The preferred occupancy is four but the property can accommodate up to six. There is a high degree of privacy, the owners do live onsite and a studio barn unit is located across the orchard.
    The property is rural and approached via narrow country roads and a 750m stone surfaced track. It may be an unsuitable access for abnormally low clearance cars.

    Nestled at the head of a beautiful valley in the North York Moors National Park bordering both Dalby Forest and National Trust Moorland, this is a lovely family home which the owners let out seasonally to enable visitors to enjoy the amazing country environment and scenery which is a great place to relax and let the world disappear or use it as a base for walking, biking or touring the National Park and coastline – it is mountain bike heaven with the world class routes within Dalby Forest on the doorstep. Walkers and runners have many miles of open countryside and forest to explore including The Bridestones, Hole of Horcum and Blakey Topping.

    This recently converted contemporary barn has well planned spacious ground floor accommodation comprising, open plan kitchen diner with feature stonework, large lounge with fireplace and wood burning stove additionally there is an entrance lobby with ample boot and coat space and a utility room with a walk in shower and WC. There is StarLink WiFi and a Smart TV. The first floor has three double bedrooms, one with an ensuite shower room and WC the other bedrooms share a shower room with WC. The south facing front garden is predominantly paved and gravelled with feature rockeries and planters and is a suntrap and great place to enjoy the sunset and stargaze in this designated dark sky location. The private rear patio is an ideal place for a BBQ and enjoy a relaxing dip in the hot tub after a hard day’s activity also enjoy an evening stroll up the lane and into the forest or chat with the donkeys on the way up to the Moorland which in spring is full of lambs, joined in the summer by many rare bird species – The fragrant heather is in full bloom through August. Thornton Le Dale is 12 miles away, a beautiful village with chocolate box cottages, stream and a good range of tea shops/cafes, gift shops, ice cream parlour, bakery, a model village and two good pubs. Just a short drive outside the village is the award winning Cedar Barn farm shop and café/restaurant with children’s play area. A couple of miles further along is the market town of Pickering, home of the North Yorkshire Moors Heritage Railway running across the moors to Whitby, travelling through Newtondale ‘Yorkshire’s own Grand Canyon’ and calling at Goathland; home of Heartbeat. Hemsley with its castle and Yorkshire’s food capital Malton are well worth a visit, for a family day try Eden camp, Flamingoland or Castle Howard also the seaside towns of Scarborough and Whitby are easily accessible with everything they offer or perhaps try one of our favourites, Robin Hoods Bay, Boogle Hole, Sands End or Rievaulx Abbey.
