In the morning, freshen up with a long soak in the bath tub, or if you are short of time, a quick rinse in the shower, before you begin your day of exploration. For an adventure not too far, begin your day exploring the wooded grounds of Percy Wood Country Park, where you can utilise the on-site faciltiies such as a free, 18-hole golf course to begin your day. Here there is also a children’s park, as well as an on-site bar and restaurant, The Coast and Country Bar. Animal lovers will be thrilled with a day at Northumberland Zoo, and watch as the array of exotic and native animals play. Immerse yourself in the rich history of Northumberland by touring Alnwick Castle, a popular film location complete with stunning gardens where you can lose yourself amongst the blossoming flowers at The Alnwick Garden. Then, venture into the National Trust – Cragside, a Victorian house and garden famed for being the first house in the world to be lit by hydroelectricity.
