The lodge-style accommodation within the Tamar Valley Resort near Callington is well placed for guests looking to explore a little of both Cornwall and Devon. Set amongst 20 acres of rolling countryside in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The open-plan living room is the heart of the homestay with doors to the decked balcony with seating and table for sunshine dining and leafy views beyond. The dining area with big table for feasts and board games, makes a great social space and the kitchen is modern and bright. The ground floor bedrooms are comfy with ample storage space; the master leads out to the decked patio area and has a Jack and Jill en-suite bathroom. The private hot tub on the decked area is a real luxury – ideal for an evening tipple or sun soaked bathe, there is also a large balcony on the first floor making the most of views. Within a short drive is Cotehele, a Tudor house and valley garden estate set above the River Tamar or a little further afield you can visit the glorious sandy beach at Whitsand Bay with dramatic scenery and sheer cliffs. Equally accessible is the magical Dartmoor National Park with undulating moorlands and a myriad of historic sites and monuments – a rambler’s dream.Just a short walk from the on site leisure facilities including indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools, bar, shop and reception are the Valley Lodges. During the school holidays there is a busy programme of entertainment including quiz nights and karaoke plus sporting activities (seasonal, subject to availability, extra charges apply) including archery, rock climbing, canoeing and abseiling.
