Stop at the horse-drawn boat centre, where you can arrange a trip down the peaceful canal, visit the historic Plas Newydd House Museum & Gardens, which was the home of Ladies of Llangollen, Lady Eleanor Butler and Sarah Ponsonby, for almost 50 years, while Castell Dinas Brân showcases the ruins of the 13th century castle, built on an Iron Age hill fort. Why not hire a boat and cross the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, built by Thomas Telford and Williams Jessop and nestled among 11 miles of World Heritage Site, or explore the area on foot, with numerous walking trails through beautiful countryside, including the circular route of The Llangollen Round, which incorporates every summit of the Vale of Llangollen and showcases views of Llangollen, Snowdonia and even the Shropshire Hills.
