The kitchen is fully equipped with contemporary facilities, including a large range cooker, microwave, Belfast sink and dishwasher, alongside a dining table for eight to keep the designated chef company. A larger, formal dining room is nearby with vintage furnishings, painted portraits, and a stunning open fire to set the scene while you toast to your retreat over a delicious supper. On summer evenings, why not carry a picnic out to your secluded garden? It’s set just across a lane to the rear with stone steps leading up to a well-kept garden with a pond and furniture to dine under the stars. After hiking through the Yorkshire Dales, chuck muddy walking gear into the utility’s washing machine and freshen up in the ground-floor shower room, complete with a spacious walk-in shower and heated towel rail. Head upstairs to find a large bathroom with a roll-top bath and shower over if you’re in need of a relaxing soak among the bubbles! Each bedroom at Windyridge retains the cottage’s Georgian character with antique furnishings, while promising a homely space to unwind after the day’s adventures; choose between two king-size, one double, and a twin, all with plenty of storage space for your belongings. Start your morning with a stroll around Settle which hosts The Museum of North Craven Life and the historic Settle station water tower, along with traditional pubs, a variety of restaurants, and convenience stores if you prefer to cook at Windyridge! Pack your hiking boots and head into the Yorkshire Dales for romantic vistas, walkways, caves, and rustic villages; Scaleber Force Waterfall, Stainforth Force and Malham Cove are just some of the nearby attractions waiting to be explored! The market town of Grassington is a good starting point with a visitor’s centre, Folk Museum, and plenty of walking trails leading you into unspoilt scenery. Wildlife lovers can visit the picturesque village of Malham for an idyllic woodland trail leading you to Janet’s Foss and natural pool, Gordale Scar, and Malham National Nature Reserve. Further south lies the market town of Skipton with its impressive, medieval castle where guests can explore 12th-century dungeons and Skipton Castle Woods, followed by lunch at The Castle Inn, or why not hike Skipton Moor? If you’re looking to venture further afield, Kendal is within driving distance on the edge of the Lake District; explore the Quaker Tapestry Museum, the hilltop ruins of Kendal Castle, and pick up some classic Kendal mint cake.
