The cottage is in the ideal location for those wishing to explore both the nearby seaside resorts and the spectacular scenery of the North York Moors National Park making it suitable for families and groups of friends. Warm and welcoming, the property is tastefully furnished and has a lovely homely feel to it. The comfortable sitting room has a warming woodburning stove, perfect for cosy winter nights in by the fire. The bright and cheerful country-style kitchen provides a very sociable space, with its central dining table, electric range cooker and Belfast sink. Upstairs are two delightful bedrooms, with one having the flexibility of a zip/link king-size double, together with a modern family bathroom. Outside the cottage is an enclosed gravelled garden, where you can sit and relax in the morning sunshine, before heading off for the day’s adventures. The village itself is home to quaint tea rooms and small shops selling local produce. The immediate surrounding countryside is a walkers and cyclists’ paradise, with an abundance of footpaths, trails and quiet lanes to enjoy. A twenty minute drive brings you into the heart of popular Scarborough, a wonderful traditional seaside town. Whether it’s building sandcastles on the beach, donkey rides, candy floss, or tasting fish and chips in the invigorating sea air, Scarborough has it all! There are cafes, tea rooms and fine restaurants to try, gardens and parks to explore and a quaint, historic harbour to visit. Climb up to the castle ruins, try your hand on the amusements or stroll along the promenade from North Bay to South Bay. The open-air theatre hosts many well-known bands, whilst the renowned Stephen Joseph Theatre is well worth a visit. There are many historic market towns in the vicinity of this cottage, including Pickering, with its steam railway and castle, as well as Kirbymoorside, Malton and Helmsley to explore.
