The hamlet of Tewitfield can be found nearby and is home to a friendly pub, as well as a well-stocked farm shop, so you can grab the things you need without venturing far. There is so much to see in the surrounding area, with the historic wonder of the Leighton Hall Estate, the vast RSPB areas of Leighton Moss and Warton Crag, as well as the fascinating Lakeland Wildlife Oasis all resting within easy reach. Further away lies the market town of Kendal, a place that is a gateway to the Lake District’s outdoor delights, but also offers fantastic golfing opportunities, including the Kendal Golf Club, the intriguing Kendal Museum, and the ruins of the once-glorious Kendal Castle. If watersports and climbing are your specialty, venture into the Lake District National Park to find a plethora of lakes and peaks, or travel to the Arnside & Silverdale AONB for more coastal fun?
