Tucked away in a quiet lane in the heart of the picturesque, Bourton-on-the-Water, Inglenook Cottage is a lovely Cotswold stone cottage, within a row of cottages. The property has been lovingly refurbished to contain a perfect mix of stylish contemporary décor and charming character features. Perfect for a relaxing break in the Cotswolds, Inglenook Cottage sleeps four guests in two well-presented bedrooms.
Step through the front door which opens up to a handy hallway, an ideal space to keep coats and shoes, which leads you into the welcoming sitting room which has lovely reclaimed wooden floors and a feature fireplace containing a woodburning stove, a fine room to relax with your loved ones and watch a DVD on the Smart TV.
The chef of the group will be delighted with the well-equipped kitchen, which is open-plan with the sitting room, so they will be kept company as the cook up a delicious meal, before you all gather in the bright conservatory which houses a dining table and lovely French doors leading out to the garden.
Concluding the ground floor is a handy cloakroom with a basin and WC.
Once you’ve enjoyed a tasty dinner with your loved ones, head up to the first-floor and have a relaxing shower before heading to one of the stylish bedrooms; the king-size master with views overlooking the courtyard garden and the second bedroom also overlooking the garden which houses a second king-size (which can be changed to twin beds on request).
Once you’ve had some well-deserved rest, head downstairs to make yourself a mug of tea to be enjoyed in the private, enclosed garden which has pretty Cotswold stone walls, mature shrubs, table and chairs and boasts a chiminea and barbecue.
Just a few steps outside of your front door you will see the River Windrush which is known for its low bridges, giving Bourton-on-the-Water the name ‘Venice of the Cotswolds’.
Bourton-on-the-Water has been regularly voted one of the prettiest villages in England, home to a wealth of attractions and shops, restaurants and tea rooms, such as Cotswolds Antiques and Tea Room and Coach & Horses pub, and you can surround yourself by wildlife at Birdland Park and Gardens or have some fun at the miniature replica of the Cotswold stone village at The Model Village.
Nearby Lower Slaughter is widely regarded as one of England’s most beautiful villages and is home to The Slaughters Country Inn which is a well-regarded, quintessential country inn, offering lovely food and drinks – not to be missed!
Stow-on-the-Wold is the highest of the Cotswold villages and is a small market town with an array of boutique shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants; indulge in a bite to eat and drinks at The Stag at Stow, or revel in the scrumptious tea and cakes at The Old Bakery Tea Room.
Visit Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens where you will find over 250 species of animals and be inspired by the beautiful landscaping and seasonal displays throughout the park in nearby Burford, known as Southern “gateway to the Cotswolds”.
For an unforgettable trip to the Cotswolds, choose Inglenook Cottage as your abode.
