Ideal for small families or couples on holiday together, this authentic Hebridean cottage is situated just a short stroll from the famous Ardroil beach, where the twelfth century Lewis Chessmen pieces were discovered. The cottage itself offers visitors a warm welcome with an inviting and spacious sitting room complete with local artwork on the walls and an attractive woodburning stove, helping to set the scene for snug evenings in front of the fire enjoying quality time with friends and family. The appealing farmhouse kitchen has all the mod cons you’d expect and is perfect for preparing tasty meals whether it’s a hearty breakfast round the table in the kitchen or something more formal in the dining room, meal times are certainly something to look forward to here. There is also the added bonus of a wealth of gorgeous local produce available in the area to inspire even the most amateur of foodies. After a hard day of enjoying the activities on offer on the island, where better to retreat than upstairs to one of the two pleasant and homely bedrooms which boast superb views over the dramatic coastline of Uig? To complete the accommodation there is a family bathroom with bath and step-in shower and a useful downstairs shower room. Outside, the cottage is surrounded by substantial gardens and there is a perfectly placed picnic bench, the ideal spot for enjoying a picnic and taking in those incredible views. It’s all about the beaches here though with access to 24 stunning beaches along the Uig peninsula, you’ll be absolutely spoilt for choice! If you fancy a change from the beach then there are fabulous hill walking routes in the nearby Uig Hills, birdwatching opportunities at Gallan Head and just a short but scenic drive away, are the fabled Calanais Stones and a local whisky distillery.
