More information

Rudyard Memorial Hall is an impressive house resting near Leek, Staffordshire. Offering families and friends a characterful base within easy reach of Rudyard Lake, Peak District National Park and the surrounding countryside, boasting a hot tub and toasty woodburning stove. Once a derelict memorial hall, the building has been thoughtfully revived as a beautifully styled retreat, bringing a new lease of life to its distinctive past. Pull into the hotel car park opposite, where three spaces are provided for the property, and look across to Rudyard Memorial Hall in its elevated position above the road. Ascend the steps to the front patio, pausing on the bench seating to take in your surroundings before opening the double doors and stepping into the porch hallway. Walk across the wooden flooring and into the impressive living/dining room, where the high ceiling enhances the hall’s sense of space and creates an inviting backdrop for gathering together. Take a seat around the large dining table, where a combination of bench seating and chairs accommodates six for leisurely breakfasts and celebratory dinners, before settling into the sofa or armchair for a slower evening. Set against a characterful stone wall, the woodburning stove makes a striking focal point, ready to warm the room as you choose a favourite film on the wall-mounted Smart TV or put the retro sound system to use. Continue into the well-appointed kitchen, where the wooden flooring flows beneath your feet and marble worktops lend an elegant finish to the room. Prepare dinner using the oven and induction hob, pour an evening brew from the kettle or reach into the fridge/freezer for something chilled, before leaving the dishwasher to take care of the plates. A washing machine is also available for refreshing clothes after days spent exploring, while WiFi keeps you connected throughout your stay. Open the patio door and step directly into the rear courtyard, ready to make the most of the garden beyond. When the day draws to a close, follow the wooden flooring towards three individually presented bedrooms, where artwork on the walls adds further character and electric window blinds allow you to settle in for the night. Two double bedrooms each offer the privacy of an en-suite shower room, with the spacious second double also featuring a built-in wardrobe, stylish basin and heated towel rail. The twin bedroom sits conveniently close to the family bathroom, where tiled finishes replace the wooden flooring and an elegant freestanding bath invites you to sink into the water after a day of adventures, with a hand-held shower also provided. Back outside, follow the steps from the courtyard to the raised garden level and settle beneath the covered pagoda, where the enclosed surroundings and woodland backdrop create a private setting for evenings in the fresh air. Take a seat with drinks before slipping into the hot tub and letting the warm bubbles ease tired legs after a day beside the lake. Dedicated storage for bikes and paddleboards makes it easy to bring equipment along, particularly with Rudyard Lake just a short walk away, where watersports and a café await. After a day exploring the lake and surrounding Staffordshire countryside, return to Rudyard Memorial Hall for dinner around the table, an evening beside the woodburning stove or a final dip in the hot tub. Note: This property can be booked with ref. 1212703, together 12 guests.
