Bude, situated on the Atlantic Heritage Coast in North West Cornwall, has been a popular destination for holidaymakers since the Victorian times. While the history of the town is certainly one of the things that makes this quintessentially Cornish seaside location so attractive, it's the breathtaking scenery and stunning coastal views that keep our holiday cottage guests coming back to Bude year after year.
The town itself enjoys two wide, sandy, family-friendly beaches, Crooklets and Summerleaze, the second of which features a sheltered sea pool ideal for little ones to have a safe salt water dip unaffected by the tides. There are also several other excellent beaches within in a short drive of Bude, including Widemouth Bay, a well-known surf beach that also offers a variety of other water sports for those looking for an active holiday. The majority of local beaches in Bude are dog friendly, which is ideal for those who couldn't imagine a holiday away without the family's best friend!
The magnificent South West Coast Path is easily accessible from Bude, providing far-reaching views of the beautiful, rugged coastline, and some of North Cornwall’s best walks. Local day trips from Bude include the chance to delve into the mysteries of Cornwall with a visit to Tintagel Castle, the legendary home of King Arthur and Merlin. Alternatively take a short scenic drive along the coast to picturesque Port Isaac to indulge in hearty seafood dishes then listen to traditional sea shanties from the Fisherman's Friends on the Platt.
