Perched high above rolling countryside with sweeping panoramic views stretching all the way to the sea, Hazeldene is a spacious detached three-bedroom bungalow in an enviable elevated setting close to the stunning beach at Crackington Haven.
If breathtaking views are top of your holiday wish list, Hazeldene delivers in every direction. Surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens, with secluded seating areas perfectly placed for soaking up the scenery, this peaceful retreat is made for relaxing, unwinding and escaping the everyday.
Crackington Haven is a charming and unspoilt North Cornwall coastal hamlet, nestled between dramatic cliffs and rugged headlands just south of Bude. The sheltered cove beach is a favourite with surfers, families and walkers alike, and is lifeguarded during the school holidays. At low tide, fascinating rock pools emerge for children to explore, while nearby tennis courts offer even more holiday fun.
Just half a mile downhill from Hazeldene, or a short two-minute drive, you’ll find the beach, a welcoming local pub, two excellent cafés offering eat-in and takeaway options, and convenient parking.
Perfectly positioned between Bude and Boscastle, Crackington Haven is known for its quieter atmosphere, spectacular coastal walks and unforgettable scenery. Whether you want lazy beach days, surfing adventures, scenic hikes or peaceful evenings watching the sunset, Hazeldene is the ideal base for your Cornish escape.
Ideally located for exploring North Cornwall’s most popular destinations, Hazeldene is just 6 miles from Boscastle, 8 miles from Widemouth Bay and 11 miles from the vibrant seaside town of Bude.
Hazeldene is surrounded by the most beautifully laid out gardens with a variety of mature Cornish and Mediterranean shrubs providing secluded, hidden pockets of seating for quiet contemplation and relaxation. Surrounded by substantial soft hedging, the garden is relatively sheltered and most certainly private.
The garden equates to about half an acre in total, with masses of space for everyone to enjoy.
Ample garden and balcony furniture is provided along with BBQ.
Once a small port importing limestone and coal, the tiny village of Crackington Haven sits on Cornwall’s rugged North coast between Bude and Boscastle surrounded by stunning natural scenery. Seemingly barely touched by time, the village remains just a smattering of cottages leading down to a lovely sand and shingle cove set between dramatic cliffs.
Holidays in Crackington Haven revolve around the beach and getting outdoors; spend sunny summer days with a picnic on the sand, in the water or exploring the rock pools exposed at low tide. The beach is a popular spot for surfers and there is safe swimming too, with lifeguard cover during the summer months. In more wintery weather the beach remains a popular destination for walkers and mini explorers who’ll fall in love with the remarkable landscapes and geology of the cove. And with fabulous walking in both directions on the South West Coast Path, there’s plenty to do at any time of year.
Using your holiday cottage in Crackington Haven as a base you’re well placed to explore the stunning surrounding area. The adventurous can set out on foot to attempt the 10 mile Crackington to Bude stretch of the coast path and be rewarded with breath-taking views of the Atlantic, or challenge themselves in the other direction from Crackington Haven to Tintagel. Here again you will enjoy stunning ocean views as well as the chance to spot peregrine falcons, buzzards kestrel and breeding seabirds in early summer. For the rest of us there are plenty of shorter routes to explore the local countryside, and Bude and Tintagel with their own pretty beaches along with shops, bars and restaurants are easily reached by car and make for an excellent day out.
Our holiday cottages in Crackington Haven are perfect for couples and families and most accept dogs so you all can enjoy your holiday in this beautiful corner of Cornwall.
Approached by a private, unmade lane (access to Hazeldene and just two other properties), there is private parking for up to two large or three medium/small sized cars.
