Steps down to lawn area (please note, there is a drop on one side of the garden behind a wall, where children should be supervised and for dog owners the garden is not completely enclosed). Steps from the end of the lawn area lead down to the lane which leads into the heart of the village.

Hope Cove is home to the Hope and Anchor pub and The Cove, an uber-cool café bar that serves late breakfasts and sunset suppers just a stone's throw from the scenic beach. The Hope Cove Gallery exhibits wonderful local art and crafts, and is a great place to pick up a souvenir or just have a lazy browse to escape the summer sun. Alternatively, treat yourself to an ice-cream, find a quiet bench and watch the waves gently roll into the bay. The adventurous might be inclined to set forth in search of little-known Beacon Beach, where they are likely to find themselves alone with only the gulls for company, while walkers can take the coast path east towards Bolberry and beyond, or west to South Milton Sands for a swim followed by a meal at the fabulous Beach House.
Quaint Thurlestone with its choice of stunning beaches is just a short drive away or can be reached by foot by following the coast path to the west. Bantham and Salcombe are also nearby, and you won't have to venture far to take in the rest of the South Devon countryside.
