A former farmhouse dating back to 1756, this quality Sedbergh cottage provides an ideal base for those wishing to get away from it all and enjoy the famous Howgill Fells, loved by Wainwright and illustrated in his celebrated books. Lovingly renovated, this charming Sedbergh cottage offers quality self-catering accommodation, with a wonderful mixture of modern furnishings, with the original features maintaining the character and charm of a bygone age. The ground floor comprises a warm and cosy sitting room with a woodburner set in a feature stone fireplace, a spacious kitchen with dining area and picture window looking out across the lovely garden to the nearby fells, underfloor heating in the kitchen and a beautiful beamed ceiling. The first floor of your Cumbria cottage features a delightful bathroom, a master bedroom with king-size bed and an equally spacious twin bedroom, to ensure that guests have a comfortable stay at this first class holiday cottage. The cottage seamlessly combines contemporary and character accommodation with the exposed stonework, old beams, nooks and crannies to provide a great base to enjoy this wild and rugged corner of Cumbria. Outside your superb Sedbergh cottage is a garden with patio area, and all the surrounding area is ideal for enjoying the great outdoors; wonderful walks are in every direction including the famous Cautley Spout, which is England’s highest waterfall above ground. With an abundance of wildlife on the doorstep, this is an ideal Lakeland cottage to get away from it all and enjoy country living at its finest. Sedbergh nestles at the foot of the beautifully unspoilt Howgills, free from crowds of tourists and walkers. There are several excellent pubs and cafes serving great food, as well as an inspiring deli and an award-winning butcher. The town is full of character from its cobbled streets to its historic houses, some of which show the hallmarks of the old knitting and woollen trades in the town. Both Kendal and Kirkby Lonsdale are a 20-minute car journey away, and the cottage is perfectly located on the doorstep of both the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. There are many local places of interest to visit including Fairfield Mill, the picturesque village of Dent and the renowned Ingleton Waterfalls. A lovely cottage in Sedbergh, ideal for exploring this delightful part of England.
