Wander around the galleries and antique shops and experience the weekly market held in the central square. The surrounding area has many attractions, including stately homes such as Castle Howard, Scampston Hall and Duncombe Park. Visit the nearby Lavender Fields or take a trip back in time on the North York Moors Steam Railway from Pickering. Catch the train in Malton and spend a wonderful day in York with its famous Minster, Jorvik Viking Centre and medieval city walls. Try a river cruise on the Ouse, followed by a gourmet meal in one of the many splendid restaurants. An ideal retreat for couples looking for something distinctly different!
