Tucked away along the beautiful River Lim walkway in Lyme Regis, is the adorable Brook Cottage.

Nestled in the very heart of town, the semi-detached stylish escape offers up a generous slice of peace and tranquillity, with only the sounds of the babbling river and birdsong to lull you to sleep on your perfect seaside holiday.

The boutique, pet-friendly cottage has three bedrooms and can sleep up to five guests. It is swathed in natural light during summer as well as being an ideal spot to cosy up in the winter months. This makes it a superb choice for families and couples alike.

The cottage has a pretty and secluded garden, which is very popular with a variety of birdlife. It is the perfect spot to take your meals or simply relax with your morning coffee, or a glass of wine and some nibbles.

Constructed in the 1930s, the quaint cottage comes with a lot of history and has been very lovingly renovated. It's a unique mix of old and new, with a lot of thought and attention put into the finer details. All this creates a modern, clean look with a rustic twist that features recycled, reused and sustainable items wherever possible giving the property a wonderfully individual charm.

Lyme Regis itself is a truly fantastic place. Situated on the magnificent UNESCO Jurassic Coast, it's known as the pearl of Dorset and upon visiting, it's easy to see why. A famous spot for fossil hunters worldwide, it also sits on the South West Coast Path and offers a whole host of wonderful hikes and walks nearby.

Lyme Regis' sheltered south-facing beaches are safe for both children and water sport enthusiasts, with great fishing and leisure boat opportunities available from the Cobb harbour. It has a fantastic food and music scene and is often used as a prime filming location.

There are also vast amounts of festivals and events happening in the town throughout the year. Some of the bigger ones include the jazz and folk festivals, Food Rocks, Regatta & Carnival Week, Guitars on The Beach, and Lifeboat Week which offers a week of fun, games, music and displays for all the family. Of course, there are also loads of smaller events happening as well!

Outside

The green and secluded front garden has a mix of gravel and paving stones and features a pretty seating area, the perfect spot to enjoy the late afternoon sun with a glass of wine or for your morning coffee.

The local area

The picturesque seaside resort of Lyme Regis, with its relaxed pace of life and genteel, old-world charm is a wonderful place to escape and unwind. Situated on the dramatic Jurassic Coast, on the border between Dorset and Devon, visitors to the town will appreciate the natural beauty of the setting nestled in rolling countryside, with miles of stunning coastal scenery right on their doorstep.

The town itself is famous for its iconic Cobb, a curving harbour wall dating back to the 13th century that is also a great spot for crabbing, fishing, or taking a boat trip to admire the magnificent views from the water. At the far end of the Cobb you’ll find the Lyme Regis Aquarium featuring a variety of local marine life, including crabs, seahorses and (at the time of writing) an 80-year-old lobster!

The Lyme Regis Museum is certainly worth a visit, and afterwards, why not use your new-found local knowledge to find a few fossils of your own along the ancient coast, or take part in a guided fossil walk to uncover some relics from the ancient cliffs around the town, which are continuously being eroded by the sea.

Lyme Regis is the perfect place to while away a pleasurable afternoon strolling through the historic 14th century old town which is brimming with characterful shops, tempting tea rooms and quirky galleries. Then enjoy a lively evening at the sea front theatre, or at one of many outstanding bars and restaurants serving locally caught fish and locally produced culinary treats.

If you fancy a beach day, the town's Cobb beach is popular with families, but there are several more beautiful beaches to discover nearby, including Charmouth beach, Chesil beach and Weymouth beach.

Meanwhile, for a family day out, there are several attractions within easy reach, including the Axe Valley Wildlife Park, Seaton Tramway and Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary, all of which are just over the border in East Devon.

A holiday cottage in Lyme Regis allows you to take full advantage of all this lovely seaside town has to offer, whilst being a great base to explore this beautiful corner of Dorset and East Devon.

Due to the Riverside location there is no parking at the property, however a short stop for unloading is available nearby in addition to a couple of large public car parks who offer electric vehicle charging points.

Included: Bed linen and towels included, Wi-Fi, electric and heating (guests must provide their own beach towels). A travel cot and high chair are available on request. Please bring your own cot linen.
