Cider Cottage is one of two beautifully converted former cider barns, set in a stunning rural location near the village of Hawkchurch, close to the Devon/Dorset border and just a short drive from the world‑famous Jurassic Coast. Occupying an elevated position at the head of a peaceful valley, the cottage enjoys far‑reaching countryside views and offers a wonderful retreat for families, friends and couples alike. Full of charm and character, this spacious 15th‑century Grade II listed stone cottage blends historic features with modern comforts. Inside, the welcoming living room provides a place to relax after a day of exploring, complete with an electric woodburner for cooler evenings. The well‑equipped kitchen and dining area is ideal for sociable meals, with everything needed for an easy and comfortable stay. Cider Cottage sleeps up to six guests across three bedrooms. On the ground floor, a twin bedroom benefits from its own en suite shower room, offering flexibility for multi‑generational stays. Upstairs, there is a double bedroom and a further twin bedroom, served by a family bathroom with a bath. A travel cot and highchair are provided for younger guests. Outside, a private raised patio with garden furniture and a barbecue provides the perfect spot to sit back and take in the fabulous countryside views. Children will enjoy the shared adventure playground, while guests are welcome to explore the owners’ 27 acres of grounds, home to an abundance of wildlife including deer, foxes, owls and buzzards. Sheep and lambs graze in neighbouring fields, adding to the relaxed rural setting. Bike storage and private parking for up to three cars are available, along with an electric vehicle charging point. Despite its tranquil setting, Cider Cottage is ideally located for discovering the surrounding area. The renowned seaside town of Lyme Regis, with its sandy beaches, iconic Cobb Harbour and lively seafront, is within easy reach and offers an excellent choice of cafés, pubs and restaurants. Nearby Charmouth is well known for its fossil‑rich beach and opportunities for guided fossil hunting along the Jurassic Coast, while other charming coastal destinations including Beer, Branscombe and Sidmouth are also close by. Local attractions such as Beer Quarry Caves, the Seaton Tramway and the Donkey Sanctuary at Sidmouth offer plenty to explore. Numerous on‑site and nearby footpaths make this a great choice for walkers, and horse riding is available locally at a neighbouring property (charges apply). The nearby village of Hawkchurch has a traditional pub and village shop, just one mile away. Perfectly positioned for a peaceful rural escape, Cider Cottage combines character and comfort with easy access to the spectacular Jurassic Coast and the counties of Dorset, Devon and Somerset.
