Set within the cobbled town of Ambleside, Four Seasons is a delightful stone-built Lakeland cottage that has been renovated to a high standard throughout. Surrounded by magnificent lakes and breath-taking fells, this humble abode offers a wonderful base from which to explore the beautiful landscapes of the Lake District, whether you’re a couple of keen hikers or a small family looking for a relaxing countryside retreat. Step inside the warm and welcoming hallway, leaving your coats to hang and your muddy boots to dry before continuing through to the attractive open-plan living space, home to a compact kitchen, a sociable dining area and a sitting area with plenty of seating. Completing the ground-floor is a wonderful airing space, perfect for drying out all of your wet clothes following an action-packed adventure out on the waters. Make your way upstairs, where you will discover two lovely bedrooms comprised of a double and one single, both decorated with solid oak furnishings to provide ample storage space for all of your belongings. Across the way, the newly fitted bathroom can be found boasting a roomy bathtub with a handy shower over, as well as a basin and WC. Make the most of warmer climates with afternoons spent lounging at the outdoor seating area with a warm cup of tea, or why not set about on a scenic stroll to the centre of the town for a bite to eat at one of the many local cafés or restaurants before taking a tour of attractions such as Stock Ghyll Force, the ancient remains of Ambleside Roman Fort, or the beautiful woodland of Borrans Park. A pleasant walk away, the village of Rydal is home to the magnificent cottage of Rydal Mount and Gardens, the former residence of William Wordsworth, and the mesmerising Rydal Cave. There’s fun to be had over in Bowness-on-Windemere with The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction and ample opportunity to set sail on a tranquil river cruise, before crossing over to the West Shore for a breath-taking walk to the 19th century fortress of Wray Castle. Tour the mountains of Red Screes and Scafell Pike, where you will be rewarded for our efforts with sweeping views of the countryside. With all this to do and so much more, Four Seasons offers a fantastic setting for any type of self-catering holiday, no matter the time of year.You enter this attractive cottage through an entrance hall with hanging space for waterproofs and muddy boots. Further in, you will find a beautiful lounge and kitchen diner with delightful solid oak furnishings.
Make your way upstairs, where you will discover two lovely bedrooms, one double and one single, both with solid oak bedroom furniture, providing ample cupboard and wardrobe space. The newly fitted bathroom has a bath with mains shower over, basin and WC. Airing space is available for wet clothes. After a day exploring, relax in the comfortable leather suite, oak furniture and oak effect flooring. The stairs and bedrooms are fully carpeted.
Take a short two-minute level walk to the centre of town, or walk to Waterhead, just 10 minutes away, where you can take a cruise or hire a boat on the beautiful lake.
A bonus is a private parking space for one car in the courtyard and a small seating area with a wooden bench is ideal for catching the afternoon sun. Ambleside bus station and laundrette are nearby.
