More information

Originally a reading hall built for the villagers of Lowick by Lord Hodgkin, Hodgkin Hall has been furnished to create an ideal base for a family or group of adults looking to explore the coast and countryside of Northumberland. Reverse level, you will be welcomed by off-road parking and ascend to the first floor to find the living area. Within this property the open-plan living area is simply stunning, with tall ceilings adding an airy quality and threaded with roof beams, the space is full of natural light, and themes of black and grey décor add opulence, where leather and velvet sofas encourage you to relax and enjoy a good book. When mealtimes call, an excellent kitchen beside traditional arched windows entices you to cook up a storm, which will be served on the stylish wooden dining table, making this a contemporary social hub for all guests to enjoy whilst still retaining historic features. There are five bedrooms throughout this property sleeping a total of eight guests, beginning with two on the first floor, a double and a single and, along with a family bathroom and handy utility, you can find a king-size with an en-suite, a double and a single, and each room has its own character, storage and air of opulence. Outside, enjoy breakfast in the sunshine at the dining area. Lowick is a lovely countryside village with its own eateries, pubs, a convenience store and even a theatre. There are countryside walks within easy reach, however if you head over the village of Yeavering you will be able to explore the beautiful scenery of the Northumberland National Park and enjoy walks such as Linhope Spout Waterfall, Grefin and Yeavering Bell Fort Hill. In the opposite direction you will find the fantastic Holy Island with many eateries, independent shops, a sandy beach, museum, and selection of superb historic sites including Lindisfarne Priory, castle and lighthouse. Explore the wonders of Northumberland with a stay at Hodgkin Hall.
