A warm welcome to Mawnan Cottage, a beautifully appointed one-bedroom Mews House, situated in a small complex of 16 properties called Tresooth Cottages. Located in a peaceful, rural location yet only 4 miles from Falmouth, a busy harbour town with gorgeous beaches and a range of eclectic shops and art galleries.
Inside you'll find a large living area with a well-equipped kitchen and downstairs shower room. There is a large mezzanine bedroom with 1 King, plus 1 Trundle bed, making it a perfect choice for a couple, or a couple with a child. Helford Passage is only 2 miles away, with the famous Ferry Boat Inn, boat trip and hire, and the ferry to Helford Village.
Tresooth has a large outdoor swimming pool and hot tub which are open from Easter until the end of September, plus a sauna, second hot tub, games room and children's play area which are available all year round. Mawnan Cottage is dog-friendly – there's even a designated paw-washing station! The location is ideal for walking, cycling, and exploring the sub-tropical gardens of South Cornwall.

Nestled between Falmouth Bay and the Helford River, Mawnan Smith is a pretty little village filled with thatched cottages, a scattering of shops and cafés, a restaurant and a thatched village pub. It takes its name from the fact there were once four working smithies in the village, one of which has been restored as a working forge with a resident blacksmith.
Despite its idyllic, rural feel, there’s so much to see and do when on holiday in Mawnan Smith. Trebah and Glendurgan gardens are both within a mile of the village and offer fantastic days out for the whole family. Run by the National Trust, Glendurgan gardens span over three valleys, and are home to an extensive maze which will keep the kids entertained for hours. Meanwhile, the subtropical paradise of Trebah has four miles of footpath which run through exotic plants and colourful blooms, as well as adventure play areas and children’s trails. It’s also home to an amphitheatre which hosts regular theatre, music, dance and comedy performances.
Surrounded by Cornish countryside and pretty estuary waters, there are lots of excellent walks around Mawnan Smith, each offering magnificent views. Walk for just over a mile to Durgan beach, a sheltered little shingle cove where you can explore the rockpools, swim in the calm estuary waters or simply sit and enjoy the view.
Those feeling brave might want to take a wander through the woods surrounding the village to spot the ghastly Owlman of Mawnan. Fabled to be a mysterious half-man, half-owl creature with fierce red eyes, he hovers around the church tower watching for prey…
For beach lovers, Maenporth is a quick 5-minute dash in the car and offers a stretch of golden sand, safe swimming waters, a beachside café and water sports equipment hire. Within five miles you’ll also find Swanpool, Gyllyngvase and Helford Passage beach.
The bustling maritime town of Falmouth is only three miles away and offers a vibrant array of independent and high street shops, art galleries, bars and restaurants.
