Mimi’s Cottage is an attractive stone dwelling attached to what used to be a Cornish smallholding and working farm, on the outskirts of the pretty village of St Neot, on the Southern side of Bodmin Moor.
Mimi’s Cottage is a peaceful rural retreat with a perfect base for exploring the lush Cornish countryside.
This delightful cottage is beautifully furnished and has a very modern bathroom
and kitchen, with the sitting room complete with the additional comfort of a woodburner for those chilly evenings.
There is a private patio overlooking the attractive meadows where you can often see buzzards hover overhead, the perfect spot to unwind in nature and enjoy alfresco dining.
There are plenty of scenic walks available from this cottage, through the woods, along the river, or just a short walk to the village pub.
Carnglaze Caverns, on the outskirts of St Neot, is a relic of the mining heritage of the area and is well worth a visit, as is Trethevy Quoit, also known as the Giant’s House, a 5,000 year old chamber tomb.
Bodmin Moor is steeped in history, legend and ancient myths and there are numerous landmarks to discover here including the Cheesewring, Rillaton Barrow and the Hurlers.
The Minions Heritage Centre is also worth a visit as it tells of many stories of the Moor and the village itself has a disused mineral railway which can be walked.
Both the North and South ends of the Cornish coast can be reached within a half hour drive from this St Neot cottage, meaning you just have to decide whether you’d prefer the spectacular waves of the North coast or the gentle coves of the South.
Mimi’s Cottage is a rural Cornish delight and with so much to see and do, you’ll want to visit again and again!
