Old Village House lies in the centre of Windermere close to local shops should you need to stock up on necessities and just paces away from The Pie and Pint, the smallest pub in the Lake District or The Queens both great places for food and celebratory drinks. Outdoor enthusiasts will feel at home in the town due to the plethora of watersport activities available on Lake Windermere as well as the variety of nearby walks and trails. Ambleside, a charming town that offers visitors a wealth of attractions, is also nearby; The Stock Ghyll Force waterfall is a must-see, as is Rydal Cave – one of the longest caves in England. Ambleside is also home to the Ambleside Roman Fort, a well-preserved Roman fort that offers a fascinating insight into the area’s history. Or visit Kendal, a fabulous market town home to several museums, including the Kendal Museum, the Quaker Tapestry Museum, and the Lakeland Museum.
