Nestled beneath majestic red cliffs with award-winning Blue Flag beaches, the town has been a firm favourite with visitors for hundreds of years with its mix of shingle and sand, with rock pools waiting to be explored at low tide. Take a leisurely stroll along the esplanade or relax with an ice cream, before taking a refreshing dip in the sea. Popular with water enthusiasts, paddle board and kayak hire are available, with the beach a haven for surfers. The nearby Donkey Sanctuary is home to hundreds of donkeys and is open throughout the year, perfect for animal enthusiasts or a day out with the little ones. For times when you chose not to cook, there is an excellent range of pubs, wine bars and restaurants nearby, many serving local seafood and dishes made from locally sourced ingredients. When it comes to days out, you will be spoilt for choice including the fishing village of Beer with its pretty beach and galleries, or Seaton where you can hop on the tram for a scenic journey through miles of unspoilt countryside along the River Axe estuary.
