Ridgway is a spacious three-bedroom holiday lodge at White Cross Bay, in a quieter area of the park, and just a short walk to the clubhouse and facilities. With a spacious deck, outdoor furniture and hot tub, it’s a superb base for your adventures and a relaxing place to return to after a busy day out and prepare your evening meal together whilst you swap stories about your day. The lodge has a ramp entrance making it easier to access but it is not fully adapted for wheelchair use.A travel cot is provided free of charge, which will fit in the master bedroom only and will be left in the lodge for you to put up. Please bring your own bedding for the travel cot. White Cross Bay is in a fabulous location, on the shores of Lake Windermere, with clubhouse and shop.. With views across the water and to the surrounding fells, you are literally in the heart of the Lake District and your lodge will be just a few yards from the waterside. Note: Some facilities on the park are subject to extra cost such as use of the pool, entertainment, bar and restaurant. 500 yards up the main A591 is Brockhole Lake District Visitor Centre, with its gardens, house, café, restaurant, walks, boats, adventure playground and Tree Top Trek: there’s lots to do! You’re also just two miles from Windermere village with shops, cafes and pubs, and three miles from Bowness boat landings, where the cruisers come in. Bowness is a cosmopolitan village with award-winning restaurants and pubs and quirky shops, a cinema and the World of Beatrix Potter attraction. Three miles in the other direction, head to Ambleside, another bustling town with shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants and of course, walks in every direction. Two miles north on the A592 is the pretty village of Troutbeck, home to two traditional pubs with log fires: The Queens Head and the Mortal man; Holehird Gardens, and the National Trust’s Townend House. Further on you climb up to the magnificent Kirkstone Pass, then drop down to Brotherswater & Ullswater. A wonderful place to make your happy memories of the Lake District.
