Centrally situated in the heart of the South Hams and an easy drive to local beautiful beaches and the glorious area of Dartmoor, this is a wonderful holiday destination with fantastic facilities on the doorstep. Whilst there is plenty to occupy more active people at Colmer, there are many places within the extensive grounds of this lovely location for those seeking peace and tranquillity in an idyllic location. With an indoor pool that is open and heated all year round and an outdoor pool for the summer months, The Lawns is a popular bolt hole! There is a nearby pub serving good beer, great bar & restaurant style food and a local shop. Salcombe is a scenic 20-minute drive away whilst you can be on the edge of Dartmoor in 10 minutes. The Avon Valley is a beautiful, unspoilt, rural haven and Modbury is in the heart of this rich farming region. With its dignified terraced houses, slate hung walls and enticing old-fashioned shop windows it creates an impression of going back in time. However, do not be deceived by this timeless character, this little town is a hive of activity with three inns and an array of excellent specialist shops and cafés.
Situated close to Dartmoor, as well as numerous outstanding nearby beaches, including Bigbury-on-Sea with its huge sandy beaches and views out to the iconic Burgh Island, a holiday cottage in Modbury offers a great base for families, couples, and dog owners to fully appreciate the charms of this stunning corner of South Devon.
